The new permanent Exhibition “Journey to freedom, 1821”, on the subject of the Greek Revolution in the Peloponnese, was organised by the Captain Vassilis & Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation and TEMES S.A. – developers of Costa Navarino – in collaboration with the Eugenides Foundation, and is hosted at the  War Museum.

The aim of the Exhibition is to enable visitors to ‘live’ some of the important moments of the Greek Revolution, but also to understand the decisive role played by the Peloponnese in its outcome.

The Exhibition includes artworks and digital three-dimensional exhibits of the Morias ’21 Programme, as well as from the NAVS Project of the Eugenides Foundation, which were created in the framework of celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution. Particular emphasis has been placed on showcasing and documenting the Greek shipbuilding tradition and naval history, through digital and VR exhibits, as well as 3D prints, as these were presented at the exhibition “Run onto the waves of the formidable sea” 1821. The War at Sea – EUGENIDES FOUNDATION”. In addition, the Exhibition hosts original content from the collections of Costa Navarino and the General State Archives.
