The digital museum allows you to navigate through all the thematic sections of the exhibition through authentic archival documents, museum relics, interactive applications, 3D models of warships and virtual representations of historical events.
Greek seafaring played a decisive role in the Revolution of 1821. The Greeks, utilizing their commercial capabilities and naval knowledge, transformed their fleet into a powerful military tool that contributed greatly to the Struggle for Independence. The exhibition captures in a unique way this connection of commercial wealth with military action at sea. It presents the protagonists of the Naval Struggle, the great ships and the important naval battles through historical documents, paintings, ship models and technological applications.
Sections
The exhibition is organized into six central sections, which unfold the history of Greek shipping before and during the Revolution:

- A Fleet of Merchant and Battle Ships
- Privateering Operations - Piracy and Maritime Court

- Organization and Contributors
The scientific curator of the exhibition is Professor of History and former President of the General State Archives, Nikos Karapidakis. The script of the Exhibition and the writing of the texts were edited by Dr. Tzelina Charlaftis, Professor of Maritime History and Director of the Institute of Mediterranean Studies.
The exhibition was based on original archival material and museum artifacts that came from the archives and collections of the General State Archives, which preserve the largest volume of archives from the period of the Greek Revolution, from foreign institutions such as the Archivio di Stato of Naples (Italy) but also from the personal collection of Dimitris and Androniki Kostopoulos. The period documents and artifacts were supplemented by innovative technological applications. Within the framework of the NAVS Project, coordinated by the Eugenides Foundation and scientifically supervised by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), School of Naval Architecture and Mechanical Engineering, precise digital impressions, drawings and virtual tours of the ships of the Battle of Navarino were developed. The Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) through the EPANASTASIS-1821 Project, created digital and virtual applications.
