Space Storms and the Polar Aurora
The Eugenides Planetarium digital fulldome show «Space Storms and the Polar Aurora» invites you on a fascinating journey to witness the most impressive and violent weather phenomena in the Solar system. From the winds on Neptune, blowing at 2,000 km/h, to the mighty hurricane on Jupiter that could swallow at least two planets the size of Earth, this show will remind us that we are indeed lucky to live on Earth! Solar storms, on the other hand, can short-circuit our telecommunication satellites and cause widespread electrical power blackouts. At the same time, however, interacting with Earth’s magnetic field, they help create perhaps the most visually stunning natural phenomenon: the Polar Aurora.
